About Mic Club

Welcome to Mic-Club; an Open-Mic for the Emotionally Naked.
I call this event an Open-Mic for it is the simplest way to describe who we are. Make no mistake, this “label” does not do us justice. Yes it is an Open-Mic but Mic-Club has a soul. Mic-Club is the only night that gave the term “Mafia” a positive meaning. If you are a local musician seeking outlets that help you evolve in your craft, join the Mic-Club Mafia. We will look after you, support you and record your performance live where you get to receive mp3s via email. All Mic-Club asks in return is honor our policy that caters to the artist’s needs and to be yourselves. The artistic, Musical family is unified and respects all those musicians that have the courage, the confidence and the love to become, Emotionally Naked. (a better description of “Emotionally Naked” can be heard every Thursday.)
Open-Mics can be a very intimidation experience but rest assure, this is an environment where that small fear is irrelevant. . You see, if you think the meaning of the word courage means that you are not afraid, well I hate to bust your bubble that is just a bit naive. Courage is simple. It means doing what you must do in the face or fear, (in this case, following your heart). When you feel the fear but it is not enough to stop you from doing what you must and want to do, that is called courage. At Mic-Club, we honor that courage and repay you, the artist, with love and support.

MIC-CLUB IS DEDICATED TO THE HARD WORKING ARTISTS.
  • First rule of Mic-Club: You do not talk at Mic-Club when the artist is on stage.
  • Second rule of Mic-Club: You do not talk at Mic-Club when the artist is on stage.
(if you sing along, if you want to scream, “I want to have your baby!”,If you want to throw roses, confetti, bras, panties, condoms or anything to show love & support, this is more than acceptable. In fact I encourage it! The host accepts hugs and kisses as well)
  • Third rule: Only 2 songs per open micer. After midnight it is one song per Open-micer to give others a chance to be “Emotionally Naked”
  • Fourth rule: Do not get on stage to stroke your ego. Do get on stage & have a good time. Artists who support and love each other might get some brownie points.
  • Fifth Rule: Don’t pull out until I tell you to. I’m talking about the guitar cable perverts! I don’t want my speakers to blow out.
  • Sixth Rule: Drink heavily and tip your bartenders. This is a free event so tips are welcome…oh and we suggest a two drink minimum. Drinking water and taking up a seat is not encouraged. C’mon Have some common sense. Buy a shirley temple. Besides water has fluoride. Boooo Fluoride! Google it and beware!
  • Seventh Rule & Final Rule in Mic-Club: What happens at Mic-club, Stays in Mic-Club! MUM’S THE WORD.
Mic-Club sign up starts at 7:00pm. Lottery format. begins at 7:30pm. feature act -10:30pm. Open Mic,Continues after the Feature act until the last person drops!!
