Last night Mic-Club started a new schedule welcoming open micers to start earlier at 8pm before our featured act at 10:30pm. This opened the door for quite a few new faces, including some comedians :)

Anthony Stanford himself rose to the stage with Dave on bass and Sacha on lead guitar. As always his songs captured the audience but with this added accompaniment for the first time it brought the performance to another level!

Drinks were knocked back and it was truelly an uplifting night for all!!

Thank you for all the new performers uniting with our regulars and participating in our unique harmonious humming that welcomes mic-club virgins as they take stage. (you have to be there to capture the true essence of this moment)

Please feel free to leave comments here or at www.myspace.com/welcometomicclub

The silence in this huddled crowd Thursday past, oozed the need, the angst a person craves to touch…Benjamin whispered his lyrics in such a hushed manner every bodies hearts opened up and embraced the moment! Gustav was the perfect accompaniment, wait till you hear the recordings.

Ladies and Gentlemen and I do mean Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a great night for those who wish to drink wine and feel sincerely romantic. Tomorrow night, Benjamin Aggerbæk (from Holland) will decorate the basement of Lucky Jack’s will colorful, warm sounds of serene love. Anyone within his sound radius will get caught in it’s electro Magnetic pulse of passion. If you feel the urge to buy flowers for that opposite sex, nothing will stop you from doing so.
Someone will get lucky…Hence Lucky Jack’s

Last night was a wonderful helter skelter experience uniting performers and mishaps all in the cove of the basement in Lucky Jacks (http://luckyjacksnyc.com)

Dean Marchi attracted an entourage of youthful souls keen to support and thus share. The crowds united throughout from participating with accompaniment with vocals and clapping, even a universal Gasp rang out, like a heart felt wrench as  Deans guitar hammered the floor. It progressed throughout the night as a blocked drain created a swamp of water and newspaper. The owner Diarmud and bar back Eric were on the case with mop & suction hoover. Timing was crucial as we were still in the heart of a wonderful group of musicians and in between acts the plumbing team got to work. Stools and patrons were playing musical chairs literally!

None of the musicians cracked or let the puddles trip them up. I actually believe it added to the night. The turmoil that surrounds a focused artist whether it’s musician, host or bartender becomes part of them as opposed to vice versa. Now as I listen to the live recording I hear how the artists mention the plumbing but yet rise up and sing there hearts out quashing the idea of any problems surrounding us. It was wonderful and a heartfelt warming experience. Mic – Club is loving Lucky Jacks!!

Allow the wondrous Dean Marchi share his own personal original songs for the first time here at Mic-Club!

Dean has been there and graced the stage with the Travellers taking us on a journey with songs from all over the world. He has backed upped many open mic performers with his stand up bass & guitar playing; finally he will get that little bit more personal and allow us to enter his world of music…

If you have not met Dean our good friend and gentle soul that he is, then there is no time like the present.

Thursday August 7th in the basement at Lucky Jacks, 129 Orchard street, Lower East side of New York City, between Rivington & Delancy. F Subway to Essex on Delancy is 2 blocks from the bar!!
