Welcome to Mic Club

As another week begins I embrace this small change in my week as Mic-Club  has been cancelled due to party having been booked  this Thursday Nov.13th.

Ideally I would have moved the open mic to another day but instead it gives myself a chance to relax and head to Ace of Clubs this Tuesday Nov.11th and sap up a range of local new york bands and catch up with a few of the regular community of musicians who attend Mic-Club.

Several of these bands we are definatly affiliated with…

A new band for me yet have been in and around the scene is “230 Revue” From what I have heard these boys will rock out the night. With Chris Costanzi, Billy Nichols, Dave D’Arcy and Craig McNeer.

Ace of Clubs is situated downstairs from ACME on Great Jones St. btw. Broadway & Lafayette St.

These youthful boys will add a bit of spunk to our open mic, here at Mic-Club in the basement of lucky Jacks!!

Fingerprints, we all have them and according to past scientific research, they are all unique.

Can you guess what other attributes we have that is also unique? Too bad we live in a specific time that puts these unique qualities in jeopardy. “They” want us to be uniformed; our thoughts that is.

The creative souls that visit Mic-Club brings to you a man who’s music make you bob your head in pleasant synchronicity. Your necks will be like rubber ban. This guy is smooth.

He blessed our open mic night almost 3 years ago when he was our first and the original performer and has continued to indulge on numerous occasions.

Last week we had a slamming band, Allen Gogarty and the immaculate Orchestra. We had a ball. Though it took a while to set up, we are now house broken. What does this mean for Mic-Club? It means that we are ready for the next band.

we will hear a sound of pure sweaty fun. I’m sure most have heart a sweet gentle soul who plays emotionally naked without fear. I’m talking about Mr. John Simoneli. Mic-Club is his home for he is family. Since the early days of Mic-Club back at the Ol’ LC’s, he shared with us his deepest creations with his voice and acoustic guitar. Who ever thought that this sweet gentle spirit could unleash such decadence with his les paul guitar accompanied by bass guitar and drums? Don’t know about you folks but I’m still feeling rock n roll from last week and since then, it’s been a long week. I’m sure not about to kill that feeling. I am going to have MEGA FUN tonight.

Folks, tonight, The Brutal East will feature at Mic-Club. Make no mistake, when we say we are going to rock, we ain’t lying.

Although the best part of a cold has stalled me motionless it has helped me sit and savour all the hard work that went down on Thursday night September 25th. with ALLEN GOGARTY, DEAN, WILSON AND AARON, performing live at Mic-Club in Lucky Jacks.

I was blessed with a devoted team of helpers from Sotir and all his boys capturing the night on film!

And most important for all the support of friends family, music lovers who trekked out on what would have been a miserable wet night;

yet our space was warmed up with a great positive vibe from all the above and now a collage of memories come flooding back…

If you go on Allen’s page that only gives you a pinch of a taste of what you will be able to devour this Thursday at 10:30pm. At Mic-Club we will be pulling out all the stops as we do a live film recording with photo shoot and drink promo… so we only encourage the true at heart who will embrace the energy of the band and send it back ten fold as we capture what we believe will be an epic in open mic history!!!
